ABOUT

Gerry Wright O&M Facility

Named after Gerald "Gerry" H. Wright, an associate professor of community development and public affairs at the University of Alberta and a vocal proponent of light rail transit, the Gerry Wright Operations and Maintenance Facility is a central and critical hub of the Valley Line LRT system.   From this location, the LRT's trains are serviced, maintained, stored, and cleaned, while the operational status of the entire system is monitored.

This facility, however, is only one portion of the larger Valley Line, encompassing 11 stops across the City of Edmonton, and an integral part of the City's broader transportation strategy.

Complimenting its integral role in sustainable transportation, the Gerry Wright O&M Facility has incorporated numerous sustainability attributes, and is targeting certification under the Canada Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) system.
